I've seen that before and it's REALLY bugging me. Maybe I've seen it on a foreign piece and my brain is crossing wires. But it's stumping me ATM.

To clarify my earlier post. I stated that it is a U.S. coin, but more to be more accurate, it shoul have read: this was made my the U.S. mint.

 

Perhaps another clue to resuscitate this thread?

That really makes me want to go out and buy a Pattern Book I'll tell you that much @Kirkuleez ...

 

I wish that were my coin. The closest that I ever had of that was a Morgan half pattern.

 

I went through my pattern book first thing and totally missed it.

Ok , here's one for you guys -

 

At first glance, a cancelled waffle coin (semi-serious) ... will start on this one tomorrow if it's not guessed before then. this is serious bidness!!

 

It looks like a liberty nickel pattern, but it's clearly not a proof coin.
