I'm gonna say all the Morgans passed, I really have no clue about grading the first 3. I'd say #2 doesn't look passable to me but could be way off.
My guesses: #2 looks to have a few too many marks, especially in areas that stick out #6 looks decent, but I'll say CAC passed on one of the two 65 Morgans. All the others passed. Nice group of coins overall!
Sorry for the delay in the reveal. There was a 24 hour bug going through the house and yesterday was my turn to get it. It really sucks getting sick in the summer time and then to add it to everything else that's been going on. I'm ready for some better luck. Anyway's a lot really good guesses. @Paddy54 nailed it on the head with his first guess before he changed it. LOL I was shocked when I opened the email and saw the results below, I was hoping for around 60% again, like last time.
#2 is the only one that jumped out as a "no" to me. #3 is probably my favorite. I love classes dies and the toning is superb. Beautiful coins all around.
Got one of the gold beans. Don't know buffs well enough to know. That Morgan looked at least a 64 though. Congrats on the results. I just applied last week for my CAC collector membership. Hope I get it.
I was surprised to get my acceptance packet within about 30 days when I applied. It's a really nice way to start to develop your eye as you only pay for the coins that pass, at least with the collectors membership. Also, CAC will be closed for a week at the beginning of August. That may slow down you application process as well.
I was very surprised to get the gold on the '38-D Buffalo, I was actually on the fence as to whether or not if would even get green. But, I'm pretty happy as it's the D/D RPM-002. It's unattributed, but's it's pretty obvious. The MS-63 1881-S I knew was under graded, but I was not sure if it would get a gold or not. I had an 1882-CC that I thought should have got a gold, but it didn't. I sent it back in in order to get feedback on it. I'm looking forward to speaking to them.
Very small sample size, but in my experience they like varieties being unattributed better unless it is a super popular well known one.
I'm confused. The CAC website still says it is closed to new member applications. Would someone enlighten me?
It has said that for a couple years now. But if you read closer, it will state that you can fill out an application and be placed on a waiting list. Lot's of people hate the thought of being placed on a waiting list and just skip the application. From what I have heard lately it does not take too long to get your application approved. I submitted my application on February 10th and received a welcome letter on March 10th.
It's not all that expensive. Plus when it comes to selling your coins, the sticker gets you more money, especially the gold.
