Hello all, can you please help a rookie out here. I have two Guatemalan 1 Quetzal coins. But both of them weigh different. I've looked up the coin and only came across the info for the one coin weighing 11 grams. No info on the one weighing 6.4 grams. Could this be an error coin I have here. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance! 20220615_223636.jpg 20220615_223702.jpg

Think I found it: the 1 Quetzal underwent a metal change.
    Nickel-Brass: 1998-2012, 11.0 g
    Brass plated steel: 2013-2018, 6.4 g

Similar to the copper vs zinc core Lincoln pennies, the outer coating looks similar, but the weight and composition changed. If you had shown both sides of the coins so one could check the dates, it might have been a lot easier to guess.

Got it, you are right. I should have put pics of obverse and reverse of the coin. One is a 2011 and the other is a 2016. I will start posting pics of both sides should I have any questions on future coins. Thank you!
