Unlikely. You have a shot at the Green bean. Toning is very subjective, so why even bother with CAC? I would not submit.
After further review. I think I can see why this 1887 was graded ms63. If you look at the Obverse hi-res photo, zoom in to just show the lower Cheek. You will notice behind what appears to be luster, black lines running toward the earlobe. My bet is this what the grader seen when holding this coin in hand plus the other minor device gashes causing the MS63 grade. I had overlooked those on the hi-res photo and did not see them on our first photo. I think CAC grading would be a waste of money.
I love the toning, but I think the fade to dark on the reverse will pre-empt it getting a bean, after looking closely. NGC will not give a coin a star if there is any toning that is blackish.
Honestly, I might send it in anyways just for the experience. Unless the coin doesn't look as deserving in hand. I'll definitely look at everyone's suggestions. If it doesn't get the cac will they explain why? Or do I just need to research to learn?
