    Remember that nickels are much smaller then these pictures so the hits are much smaller too.

    I like coins toned gold and have a few really nice gold toners. That is why this one caught my eye. In hand it is full of luster and I love the uneveness of the fields on these nickels.

    Hmmm, I was close. I overestimated the detractions of the hits on the Indians face. But sometimes I do that when I'm looking at an image I've blown up ten times the size of the original. Very nice coin, even if I'm not really a buffalo guy.

    Goes to show you what you see in a photo and the coin in hand are two different things . And in a poor photo a weak strike can look like wear. I myself find certain toned coins harder to grade as my eye mind set is to a natural color coin and not one of color.
