Finally got my last memorial proof cent.




Those hairlines are all on the slab

PFRD 67 Those hairline scratches in the slab would really bother me.

 

They are really fine scratches like somebody wiped the slab with a paper towel or something. They really aren't noticible in hand. Between the camera and the lighting they show more.

Did the coin/slab come directly from the TPG'er or did you buy it from someone?

 

It was an eBay purchase. Just got it in the mail today

Evan, you might try a small amount of peanut butter (Peter Pan works best! LOL) with your little finger and it MAY help get rid of some of those fine scratches. I had a new NGC slab come to me with a sticker on it (one that leaves a real gooey residue) took it off in 3 applications.

67Cam, but I think I may be getting thrown off by the slab. There appears to be a few tickmarks in the obverse field above Liberty, if I am interpreting the image correctly.

I'd grade the slab Details, Scratched
