Please GTG of the 1958-D Jefferson Nickel shown below. I have attached a poll for you to cast your vote and you may select up to 4 different things: the numerical grade, Full Steps or not, the * designation, and the + designation.

As always, comments welcome, and please remember to vote in the poll.

I'm at MS66 5FS. Coin looks really sharp and well struck. There is a tiny bit of weakness on the might call it 6-6-4.5-5 but I think they will give it the 5,

There is a pretty good ding on Jeff's cheek which I believe limits the grade on an otherwise very clean coin to a MS66.

I also like the toning. It's different, but I like it.

I really like the golden toning but I had to say MS-64 not FS due to the cuts on both sides. A lovely looking coin.

MS64* as I think the dinger under his temple limits this from hitting gem. It's the first thing my eyes go to.

    65 5FS was my guess.

I am at 66 5FS without that cheek hit. I think the obverse just barely reaches 65 but the reverse is carrying it and seems every bit 67.

There is a small cut on the very bottom step that keeps it from 6FS. I also see a pin head type ding that is under column 3 but seems that it is the exact height of a step and doesn’t seem to break any lines.

The toning seems like what you would see from sitting in an old album for some time.

Edit - after second guessing myself I think this coin makes 66 5FS. Idk why but I kept having my gut tell me that cheek hit isn’t as noticeable in hand.

Multiple hits on the cheek, collar and hair. However, I voted MS 65 because, like @kSigSteve, I believe the reverse is 67 worthy. Looks like it qualifies for 5FS, too.

MS 64 5fs ...the nicks are significant enough to lower it from gem status...steps are close enough where I think it got the 5 steps designation....not colorful enough for a star (especially based on what it takes for a nickel)

I have very little experience grading Jefferson nickels, but like the looks of this one. I gave it MS66 5FS.
