    So that 'X' I see (halfway between the eyes and ears and a little above), is that on the coin or the holder?

    Yes, it is on the coin. You can just barely make it out in the picture and I do not see it in hand. Remember, these coins are mostly grade with the naked eye or a 5X loupe at most. That picture is something like 15X on my screen.
