Also, the slab is slightly scuffed and dirty, so some of the flaws you might see on the coin might be on the slab.
I must be very conservative today. My initial feeling was MS-64, but I will say MS-65 as some of what I think I see may be on the holder and not the coin. I don't think it got FBL.
Well, Here it is! Beefer got it right, and Heavycam was able to figure out that it was an OGH. I paid $35, it is my first slabbed half dollar. The holder looks to be a very early one, from 1986-1989 I think. No hologram on the back of the slab even. Beautiful coin in my opinion, probably my nicest Franklin Half so far.
Looks like a 65, maybe 66. No FBL. This is an extremely common coin in the gem grades so I’ll guess you got it fairly cheap at $30.
It's an old slab from when PCGS had just started grading coins. It looks almost nothing like the later PCGS slabs, and is even smaller than them. I actually thought that this type of slab was from one of those unreliable ripoff TPGs when I first saw it at a coin show. I bought this coin at an antique shop.
