So the TPGs really just hate this coin! For those wondering, I sent to the coin to ANACS because they had a special for 10 coins for $129 and I needed to round out the submission, and at $15, the price was right. The final submission to NGC was out of sheer anger and frustration. First NGC assigns this full step premium gem an MS64 5FS grade. Then ANACS calls it a gem, but doesn't give the coin full steps. There is just no way I could leave this beautiful coin in that despicable holder, so I cracked it out again and submitted it for a 3rd time. The only lesson to be learned is that grading is just an opinion. This coin was graded 3 separate times and received 3 different grades, all of which are different than my assigned grade. So who is right?
Boy you are having some tough luck lately. I like it at the 65 5FS. I think it would be more attractive at a 66. Looks like it has enough luster.
I'll go with your opinion on the grade. I've only graded one coin 4 times (nicely toned Franklin) and there were 3 different grades out of those 4 times. It never got the grade I though was correct. I finally gave up on that one and sold it a few months ago.
