Please guess the grade of the 1943-P Jefferson Nickel shown below. I have attached a poll for you to cast your vote and you may select up to 3 different things: the numerical grade, the * designation, and + grade.

MS 66 ...obverse is very clean and the luster is solid...the chatter on the reverse (both on the building and below the word "Monticello") likely held the coin back from a 67

Very nice, hey you forgot to add a 1943/2 option or is it just the lighting.

I'm at MS65. Booming luster and sharp coin, but the hits on the reverse just below Monticello limit it to a 65. The coin is not FS.

64.. + or Star (could be either) but those dinks on the reverse (field and on monument) knocks it right out of any gem grade...

    66. I like it. Seems kinda strange to me it has the marks on the reverse but the obverse looks so clean. Anyways, hope you got a 66.

MS62 - I don't think that cluster of marks under the Monticello are chatter.

MS65 for me. Also there looks to be some die polishing on the reverse, probably trying to lessen the ghost image of Jefferson, which is still remarkably clear.

I'm saying MS66 all the way but for that cluster of deep hits on the reverse. I like it at MS66, though, in spite of those.

    66. Very nice coin, but the reverse has a few distracting marks that keep it from being ultra gem. Obverse is really nice. Not FS, because of the break in the middle of the steps.

You tell me, is the coin an undesignated 43/2-P or not, and more importantly, why?

Im going to say 66+ Obverse very clean and is the driving factor for my + but reverse hits keep it from going up. I’ll say no steps, but sometimes those cloudy spots in pics can fool you. Nice coin Paul.

Doesn't match the example on PCGS but it appears to be something, don't know why its not recognized.

I went 66. Few scuffs on the reverse under Monticello and that red dot kept it from 67 for me.
