I know some are going to boo hoo the slab. However this is one nice looking coin in hand . Probably one of the early coins graded by Accugrade . On the condition I am thinking they hit it spot on ,I compared it to another 38 D that was on the show floor. As for the FSB well I can see NGC ,or PCGS going either way. I did show it around yesterday at the show and everyone said who looked at it said that they would call it FSB
Well I agree with the grade minus the FSB, but that may just be the image. A few have mentioned the hit on the cheek; given the size of the coin, this is a really small hit. Should we do a poll to see how long it will take for someone to mention a former members name?
Rusty this is the second one time in about a month where I walked up to a case at a show, saw what I believed to be a gem in an off name slab and did well. I've always been buy the coin before the slab. When you see a coin like this one jump on it.....I showed it this afternoon to a friend who collects Mercury dimes and the first words was what do you want for it?SOLD!
Yeah, this one looks accurately graded. But, if you'd have said it was in an Ack-U-Grade slab, I might have guessed a point higher. I've been looking around at shows for the fugliest ACG MS70 I can find. Unfortunately, not a lot of dealers even have ACG coins at all.
