Another stunner Paddy. MS-66. That's a strange MM placement; not sure that I've ever seen one so slanted.
I bought a set of Mercury dimes minus the 16-d. I would not do it again from online pics. Only if I could examine each and every coin. The MS-66 stunner is not going to come in a set.
You know the mint mark is different , it also looks to be a repunch, however there are none listed as such . VarietyVista list one and this isn't it. I need to post a close up.
I couldn't find much about it either, but this CU thread seems to suggest that it is pretty common for the date. I wonder why it isn't a listed variety. https://forums.collectors.com/messageview.aspx?catid=26&threadid=199475
The D is rotated downwards and almost touches one of the leaves. I was told before the the mint mark shouldn't touch any device on the coin. As if it did it would be considered a misplaced mint mark.
Paddy , are those middle bands split , I think they are but it looks like something is covering the pic in the middle . Is that on the coin or slab ?
I think 65, the nick on the cheek would keep it from a higher grade. I don't think it quite makes FSB
Pictures are way too over exposed and pixelated to make an accurate determination from them. There is a spot of blurriness over each of the sets of bands, so I can't tell FSB or not. But you said it graded FSB, any speculation is moot. My guess is MS-66 FSB.
