It would be a nice feature if GTG posts gave out a special alert to all respondents when the "reveal" is posted. So many times I GTG, but never see the "reveal".
I'm at XF-45 on this one. I can't go AU, it just does not look to me like it's almost uncirculated, despite the lack of wear.
AU55 or better. Lady liberty's thumb is still present and there seems to be a good amount of luster left.
Be mindful, I am still learning to grade this series...in fact I feel borderline amateur-ish. Thought process: Is it MS? I don't think so. Even though there is luster present, I feel there is wear on Liberty's thigh leading up to the hand, to the flag just right of the I and on the olive branch. Reverse shows it on the breast and left leg. I don't think it is XF, well, because there is luster present. As for AU I am throwing hands up in total guess and will say AU 55. Again though, I am still working on training my eye on this series.
I know this is wrong, but on this series, especially for lower grades, I feel that is the only way I can somewhat accurately grade. "Does the eagle have an eye? Do feathers show delineation? How close is Half Dollar and USA to rim?" Only exception would be detail in the branch Liberty is carrying or if there are vertical lines in her skirt. So much to look at for these halves.
The average grade was 53.9. The most common grade was 58. The coin is AU 58. I agree with the grade due to the very minimal wear and only at the very highest points.
