I collect PCGS MS66RD Lincolns but this one looks more like a MS65RD due to the rough fields - looks like maybe struck with a semi - worn die.
Alot of 66ers - This Is my earliest PCGS MS66 - does it compare? not as magnified as the 34. Smooth fields and scratches are on the case.
After looking through my collection I don't see many of those types of surfaces - I see these - maybe 34's were graded 66 because they had crappy strikes Yes - I see your fields are not grainy?
Because newer Lincolns are very hard to find in that condition - and I don't see it in a graded holder!! TPG's have to keep coin collectors sending their coins into them so they can pry money out of your pocket
You are missing the point. The "not smooth fields" are from the mint and not PMD. Therefore, they have little to no affect on the grade. How is this for an example (also a 66).
The more I look at it, the more I'm thinking PCGS may have gave it a 67. They want great luster to give out a 67 and this coin has it.
