You might consider buying the mint stuff in the secondary market. You might have to wait a few years, but you might also save some money. The least I paid for anything was the Statue Liberty six piece set, Proof and Unc., for $165 in the wooden box. At the peak, that set sold for $850. The mint is charging top dollar these days and putting their stuff in cheap, tacky packaging. Their probable rationale is that most collectors are slabbing the stuff. I have very few slabbed modern mint coins. I used to like the mint packaging before they switched to junk.
