GTG 1918-S Standing Liberty Quarter

    So actually none of you got it right (and only two over on PCGS forums did).

    When I saw this coin in the display case it spoke to me. If the price was only $50 the reverse must be pretty bad, right? Asked to see it and was pleasantly surprised. Honestly, the reverse digs are not that bad to me at all considering the otherwise wonderful eye appeal. Because of that I got this coin for basically 20-25% of what I would pay for a clean 55 or 58. Really nice SLQs are a sight to hold in hand, and I think I did great on this one. I bought the coin and not the slab.

    So, an AU netted to XF. Looking back, the digs on the wing look a lot like toning, but I should have spotted the dig over DO. A nice example of a "problem" coin that shows very well acquired at a great price.

    Nice buy!! I looked right past the hits on the back. I think I saw them as toning as well. Going back I can clearly see the hits now.
