It looks like I am going to be rained out this morning. Just giving this a bump, in case I post the grade before Happy hour!
MS 66 BN Many 1918-D's are struck from worn reverse dies, and can look like this... Your's is amazing!
Except one of my customers called and said she had a bunch of water in her basement, so much for the day off! I'll post the slab in a few, just got home.
Yeah, it is pretty well struck. There is a bag mark on the right wheat stalk, but you have to put it at just the right angle to see it.
I was going to say MS 63 BN, but this post makes me think that the holder has something weird like MS 60 RB on it.
So, Ya, all were pretty much saying What I think also, it is atleast a grade at two low and mostly brown, it does have a red tone though. Anacs, was very conservative on this one. And I appreciated the price I bought it as. Doesn't the grade looks cool on the slab though! Seriously?
I know it is legal here in Colorado and all, but what were they smoking at ANACS when this coin came through? 62 and RB? It's sad when I think Mr ed could have done better at grading this coin. Oh and i meant the horse Mister Ed
When you say Mr Ed. is that the horse. Cause, I really enjoy hearing it strait from the Horse's mouth.
I'm late to the party, but that is one beautiful coin. Not sure if this was taken with your new setup but the pics look great.
