    My other rule of thumb for cac gold stickers is that the coin has to look stupid in the current holder that it's in. Like, ridiculously stupid.

    I suppose because a Gold CAC MS.. 1914-S is harder to find than an MS.. 1914-S.

    Short answer: marketing.
