GtG: 1907o Barber Half

    Hey Heavy can't tell from your image but there is a variety on the 1907 o as this year and mint are known to have soft strikes. It's called a mumps variety as it looks to have swelling in cheeks and that areas near jawline.
    I also like the die crack on yours. Nice pick up

    It wasn't polished, and I see lustre in the protected areas but, It probably was cleaned at some point.

    I noticed it 1st thing, it does have that mumps feature. It lines up with the eagles head(clash?) It does have some strong die clash on the reverse too

    Photos as a rule don't show the coin as it "is" ; they are simply an incomplete parcel of information that we process as best (imperfectly) as we can. If grading a coin in hand is subjective, then grading from photos is supra-subjective. I just have fun participating in these threads, accepting that we are working with partial data.
    Also, I doubt that the graders in the ANACS small white holder era would mistake a polished EF40 coin for AU50. It's just the photos.
