OMG! What is your major malfunction. Someday you will learn that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Relax!!
What was your grade again? I will LET you guys dog and beat up a coin that i dont.know my way around but not this one... i know my stuff when it comes to these and so did the ngc graders in 1989! Thatz my malfunction... what was your assigned.grade? And ill make a note to myself to either skip past your comments or actually listen to them
"Oops! You blew it by showing the serial number." That's all Chris said and you came back with your rude comments. If that's the way you are going to act, I really don't care what list you put me on. The poor images are why several guessed AU. That what your images made it look like. Blame yourself.
If it was so obvious that he was right and i was wrong then you didnt need to reiterate it by following him like a sheep... ive noticed some on here are quick to castigate others just for fun.....SORRY IF I OFFENDED YOU I APOLOGIZE TO THE WHOLE COMMUNITY FOR ACTIN IGNANT
Other than the chin "pimple", nice looking coin for surface preservation. Not a huge fan of the obverse toning. I would say MS64
The only bag mark on the entire coin is that chin hit., and theres not many scratches either. From my experience an au coin will have ALOT more scratches and hits.. you cant call a coin au simply from toning and a lil rub...,, a couple more pic for the au crowd
No, I was cheated when they let you in here! If you want to play the game on your own terms, go build a sandbox in your back yard. Chris
Still having a hard time grading from those pictures. It does appear to be very clean of contact marks. But, I can call a coin About Uncirculated if it does have a little rub. That is, IMO, the definition of AU. What did NGC grade the coin?
Hey man ive moved on from the snarky remarks we made towards each other.. notice i apologized to the entire community! That included you too... next time a newp makes a mistake on here simply try to help them fix it.. dont castigate them and keep the ball bouncing for 2 days...ive moved on and so should you....
I give up... your ego and thick skull wont allow you to comprehend.. i said sorry.. i am obviously the bigger person... goodbye
Drum Roll please..... wait 4 it...... big reveal coming up..,,,,,, no? Well since I ruined my own thead with an exposed serial # and one guy saw it... it obviously skewed the whole enchilada... lesson learned and i will direct the next newp on proper photo aiming !! Instead of what ensued here... it had to of made for an interesting read tho admit.it.. would have. been cool if one of the guys who noticed it. could give the big reveal but they didnt want. to be disqualified from the runnings for the. grand prize winner: a free submission to. your choice authentication service.
I am deeply displeased to announce.... there was no winner today, you were all wrong .......dagnabbit..... i hate when that happens.,. The good news for me is...ive seen plenty of these early ngc holders with GOLD CAC sticker... and most have been cracked out so a desirable holder... and we all know this coin is obviously not AU now because between eye appeal(subjective) and surface pres..... it a real gem........This coin def. Is NOT AU because even tho all the detail cant be viewed that doesnt necesarily mean wear. And the color changes in the toning give it more of this effect.. the eagles wing tips show no wear whatsover... tho ill admit the breast feathers leave a lil to be desired......but where u THINK u see wear is actually the luster peeking out under the toning!!!!
And thus, the problem with grading from photos rather than in hand. The pics make the coin look lightly circulated; in hand, it very well may be MS. On the other hand, though, the number on the holder has absolutely nothing to do with whether the coin is actually MS. There are 100s of AU coins in MS holders...just as there are many coins that although technically uncirculated are in AU holders due to cabinet or bag friction. The label merely means that on the day that NGC saw it the grading panel felt that it was MS. Edit add: By the way, my first guess was either 58 or 66--which just goes to show why I don't buy Morgans. LOL
I strongly agree... it takes a sharp eye to differentiate wear from rub or weakness... but luster is always my go to for such occasions... it takes a sharp eye to distinguish luster underneath of toning in photos.. thats y im announcing to everyone theres plenty of luster on those high.points look at the new photo in daylight and u might be able.to see it
Nice coin. There are many nice MS coins in that date. I have a 65 & 66. Here's the 66. Also shows weakness over the ear and breast feathers. I think mine has a slightly better strike, it's weak compared to other year and MM's.
