Officers selected for the SRT must be highly motivated, in excellent physical condition, and successfully complete a battery of tests before being selected for the assignment. After passing an initial selection, officers are required to successfully complete a certified Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) training program. Special Response Teams train on a regular and recurring basis at each of the field facilities. The teams regularly train with other law enforcement agencies.
