    Is this true of all the 1886 or just the New Orleans mint?

    Rarity should not influence a TPG grade, but sometimes it does. I think if this were a common date, it would have graded 63 or 64.

    1886-P is common in MS, 1886 -S gets pricey in MS but not nearly that of the NO issue.

    I think that the strike is a really good one for an "O" mint
    Initially I thought 58 but kicked it up a notch because of it.

    The grading company doesn't like gambling with the tougher dates.

    I dont get all the posts saying uncirculated, MS something. That beautiful coin is a classic and solid AU58.
