hey mrweaseluv i will say MS61. i did a google search on the 1883-O VAM'S and i clicked this page "http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compute.amazonaws.com/wiki/1883-O_VAMs" lol, not being a VAM guy i thought there might be a couple of different VAMS for this coin.....NOPE!!! its a great looking coin mrweaseluv good luck to ya man.. please let us know the grade and VAM
Clash of partial E, dash under the 8. photo is not good enough to clearly see more http://vamworld.com/wiki/1883-O_VAM-36A MS 63
The more I look at it, it could go 63, due to the superficiality of the marks. There are no coin contacts, just luster grazes. And she’s otherwise in gem shape.
It does seem to be to me, but not sure from the sellers pics, but yes does seem to me it might be a 22a rather then a 36a, but wasn't gonna bring that up until she was in hand and i was sure though it is a very recent "grading" from varslab
You gave the answer to soon. I was going to say, oh well, you will never know now! Nice Morgan, thanks for the post.
It's definitely a VAM-36-A as attributed by @messydesk. I can see the m in the ear and what looks like the bridge die crack over the mint mark which would make it MDS with the E clash eroding away.
Gosh...some folks don't/can't even get to these until afternoon...was already too late...but I had it at 63. A decent strike for an O...and if it were the old two-side grades the reverse may have easily had a 64 if not a 65.
I was going to guess 63, but was beat to the punch and the reveal. Didn't really bother with the VAM. Still would be nice in my collection.
