    Average or very slightly below average strike for an 1881-s. A few very minor scratches, with the spot near eagle’s wing.
    The obverse toning is a plus. I always struggle evaluating strike vs. minor rubs on toned Morgan’s...best guess normally a MS 64 coin upgraded to 65 for the toning premium.

    Technical 64 + rainbow toning = 65.

    I, personally, wouldn't buy it as an MS65. Too many scratches on the obverse.

    The last photo shows it better as a 65. I still think it is a 64 with a color bump. It's a nice looking Morgan.

    I would call up NGC and ask them about possibly getting a "star" adding to the grade for the toning. This looks like an older graded NGC coin where toning wasnt as hot back then.

    I think it is a low end 65. I said 64 CAC, and it got the bump for color. It is a pretty coin.
