The thing that happened under the LLAR is it looks like the rim of another coin made contact there. The surfaces are semi-PL and show even the lightest of contact marks. Consequently the marks look much worse than they are when viewing in hand. This coin is definitely a tail of two sides. The reverse I can live with. Typically these are found with beat up obverses with cheeks that look like there were in a knife fight, paired with reverses that are immaculate. I'll take this role reversal and pay 64 money for this obverse. Liberty on the obverse is as clean as any 67 you'll find all day long.
Absolutely beautiful luster quality on this coin! Obverse is a 65+, but the wounded eagle lowers the grade. I'm not convinced it should lower it all the way to 64, though.
