Are you a morgan fan now Mike? I've heard you both give love to Morgans and hate on them on the coin show at different times. It's like you want to like them but just can't get yourself to do it so you flip flop a bit :D

New pictures much better by the way, I feel more confident in the PL part now with the old holder

    Fair enough critique. Mea culpa.

I’m not a big fan, but I really liked THIS coin and at the price I paid, I got a steal

AHA! Now it looks like we talking PL....I will change my guess from MS-64 to MS-64 PL.

I'm sticking with MS64. I still feel the reverse holds it back from PL. JMO of course.

Actually those are excellent photos!! They reconfirm my thoughts on the holder being MS-65PL. If you were lucky, it was labeled 64PL and you got a steal! But I'd grade it a 65 obverse and 67 reverse. I just love finding Morgans with spectacular reverses like yours, they make pulling the trigger so much easier.

One more thing. If I had come across this Morgan on eBay at auction with your original images, I would add it to my watch list and I would have a very aggressive snipe set for it. I can certainly see why you bought it.

True enough. Can anyone identify it and tell me please?

Yes, that second set is what I was referring to as being excellent.

Last call to guess the grade. I’ll post it in a few minutes.

I think that this coin could be undergraded.

I must also add that the CT guys pretty much nailed the grade

It's a very nice coin, but there are SO MANY from that mint that year!

But do you think that I’d have any problems selling it?

Sure you can sell it. The "problem" is finding a price you and a buyer can agree on.
