She looks to be MS. Technically she could gem, I think. I think this one turns on how the market graders take to the toning.

It looks like PCGS shot it using an axial lighting hybrid to bring out the toning. It really gives it a cameo look, but I would expect the fields to be brighter for it to be a proof. I would guess MS-64.

Edited to add, very beautiful coin!! I would certainly be proud to own it.

I think the toning was deemed acceptable and it just got gem.

4BE31B99-766C-4A97-A818-F4D6D7904835.jpeg You guys are on. Yeah a hammered eye appealing business strike. But with the small mintages the dies didn’t get used up. It took awhile to find this too cause I was struggling to remember the grade myself. And it was in a random box of coins on my desk (mostly stuff I need to send to pcgs) not in my safe where it should have been lol. Oh well such is life at my house.

Yeah and mintage 13,600. Though it’s got a good survival rate by early collectors. One of those coins there’s no cheap low end ones but they don’t go stratospheric compared to the rarity.

You and three others. That's worth at least a booby prize. :)
