At first glance I thought this might be a proof but a closer look at the rims dissuaded me. It is possible it could be a proof since it is the Type 1 reverse hub from which both proofs and business strikes were made. The Type 2 reverse hub was only used for business strikes in 1876. But I think it is a business strike.

I wish the photos had better focus but as it is I can only detect two marks on the obverse and they are small, above and below the elbow of the left arm, a secondary focal area. I see a little splotchiness in the toning.

I can find no marks on the reverse.

Going out on a limb here:

I voted MS-65 but I think this coin has the potential to be better. So my thought is that if the photographs are telling us true, then this could be MS-66.

Really interesting toning, reminds me of some Columbian halves. I'll guess AU58, because I think I see a hint of rub.

62? I think I see a lot of marks under that toining unless it's just a very under graded coin that looks high grade pcgs true view really is much better didn't say anything but I put 58 in the poll at first.

the choices since no one has been right is 61/62/55 the only grades no one has guessed yet /definitely not 55 /61 seems a little low I'm going with 62 changed my vote.

I am usually a grade or two low. But I think MS61 is fair.
