GTG: 1857 Flying Eagle Cent

    It's one of those coins when it's hard to tell where the strike ends and the wear begins. It's at least an AU-58. It might be MS-62 if the marks in the obverse field are planchet defects that the dies did not flatten because of a weak strike.

    I would say that it says MS-62 on the slab.

    OK, even though I was wrong at 58, the 62 does not surprise me. I thought it was a tough coin to grade.
