GTG 1856 Large cent.

    I recently picked up this large cent at my LCS. The color in hand is very similar to the photos. 1856 N-13 Die state C, R-2.

    XF45 (Planchet was thin at 8:00, so details are lesser in that area).

    AU-50. Nice Large Cent, I like chocolate!

    Only the obverse @ 8 o'clock and the reverse @ 10 o'clock keep it from AU-50, so I'd go with ToughCOINS XF-45

    I was between XF 45 and AU 50...will give it the benefit of doubt and say AU 50

    Aren't GTG for coins that are slabbed?
    If it is I would guess AU53.

    I am sending it and some others to PCGS, right now I am just getting an estimate on what it may grade. I will post the results when they come back.

    It should be an EF-45, but if it was graded recently, AU-50.

    Was going with AU till I seen toughCOINS XF grade. Not arguing with a professional

    I'll have to agree with most here but will call it au53.. would be higher but those "mashed" denticals almost make me think it's ED.. they called my 57 with the same issue "genuine" surface damage lol
