I voted 45 before I looked at anyone's guesses; hate to be accused of being a graduate of the Ed Wood School of Just-A-Little-Bit-Late-Grading. I like what appears to me to be the original surfaces (I can see why @CircCam picked this one). Enough detail to be 45, IMHO, but no luster, of course. Steve
I'm at 40 but can honestly say 5 pts. Up or down from 40 is very possible depending on grader. But I'm at a 40+ nice coin I like her.
I'm at 40. The detail is nice, but i'm not seeing enough remaining luster for 45. it might be there and just not showing on pics, so i could be wrong, but just judging from the pics i'm at 40.
Highly-attractive original piece! I was teetering between VF-35 and XF-40, but I went with 40 instead.
Very nice XF example with original surfaces. I voted XF40 as it’s an older holder. Today they may call it XF45... wait it’s PCGS... they may even grade it AU :-D
I just love this coin. She has a few nicks but such a rich original character; I wish all my crusty coins had this preservation level. There’s some luster visible underneath that thick skin too to support the XF grade, but luckily no one ever messed with it.
I agree completely with this. This coin also reminds me of when @ToughCOINS says a coin could be bumped grade-wise with careful preservation, but it would be blasphemy. Not on my watch!
