This was my other pick-up from Saturday's LCS visit. This is my first original draped bust coin and also my oldest US coin. This will most likely one day be upgraded in my collection but I thought that this one was a good start! Comments and grade guesses welcome.

Just something magic about those 18th century coins. Very cool pick up!

    Grade?

    No clue.

    I'd just guess as a F-12

    F12-F16 seems about right.

I'll have to go VG8 on it. BTW, that's one heck of a crack on that reverse.

I know nothing, but guessing VG8 after looking at photograde.

The grade does not matter to me, at all. It is a wonderful historical coin. Just think for a moment where it has been and who may have held it and what it may have paid for. I am surprised it was still available in a LCS. There must not be many EAC copper people visiting the place.

The reverse is outstanding. Anybody see it?

This piece would not leave my collection if I owned it.

Great purchase! The numismatic God helps those that help themselves.

I'll go with VG10 beautiful original large cent and instead of just a crack I was thinking more of a pre-cud.

A rim-to-rim crack is a precursor to a cud when they let the die go long enough, that's right.
