I posted a group of Byzantine coins that were brought to me at a coin fair on Sunday earlier on this forum. At the same time I got a larger group of Roman base metal coins - also reportedly brought back by the soldier serving in North Africa during WW2. I have spent some time identifying those I could easily, so here are the ones I am less sure about - anyone want to shout out if there is anything unusual in this lot?

I am particularly interested in the one top row second from left, which has Greek writing, and the one bottom right corner, which is almost a caricature portrait and a V on the reverse - may be Byzantine?

For interest, the others that I have Id'ed include:

a Volusian Ant, S9759

Claudius Gothicus,

Quintillus, S11436

2x Constantine the Great (one with twin figures on reverse, the other with the under Licinius obverse),

Delmatius,

Constans (with very long neck)

Magnentius

2x Constantius II with the text reverse

Julian II

Gratian

and Flacilla!

So a good spread! For interest, the others that I have Id'ed include: a Volusian Ant, S9759 Claudius Gothicus, Quintillus, S11436 2x Constantine the Great (one with twin figures on reverse, the other with the under Licinius obverse), Delmatius, Constans (with very long neck) Magnentius 2x Constantius II with the text reverse Julian II Gratian and Flacilla! So a good spread! I have not the energy to scan them all, but if anyone wants to see any specifically, please ask and I will do my best.
