Greenland is Denmark's large mostly ice-covered island.
It's emblem is the polar bear.

    Some coins from Greenland.

Not political, but in the news today, I see where the US has tried to buy Greenland more than once!

From what I remember reading, this is ascribed to an old advertising gimmick used to try and get people to come to Greenland.

I have always wanted to visit Greenland, but so far everyone I've known in the flesh has had no interest whatsoever in going. What could top a weekend in Nuuk?

Maybe I'll have to get some coins as recompense.

    Nice coins, by the way!

I was told that my post on the U.S. purchasing Greenland was moved
    here. Where is it???????????

It was moved as part of a chain of posts that turned rather political in nature.

Your's asked for " a reason" that was answered in a political discussion manner by the someone else, and I removed it. It was 9 words and 1 abbreviation , so I am sure you remember what you wrote. If you did not receive any notice, there was no action taken on you. Jim

Side note: I took the family to the Brookfield Zoo near Chicago on Tuesday and saw the polar bear swimming around. His name is Hudson and we have "adopted" him through a zoo program. DSC_9342.JPG DSC_9350.JPG

    A footnote:

The Greenland 1944 5 kroner coin was struck at the Philadelphia Mint for US servicemen stationed there and was worth US $1.00 at the time.
