I was not aware of bull leaping outside the context of Minoan Crete which I always assumed had pioneered the phenomenon. It’s amazing how much more interesting history can be when you put all the pieces together. </p><p><br /></p><p>I also am fascinated by the Minoans. I always find it disappointing that all the courses I ever had on the ancient Mediterranean the Minoans (and Mycenaeans as well) were treated more as prologue to Archaic and classical Greece. The Minoans deserve a course in their own right! Even without the readable literary record there is lots of interesting scholarship on the era. </p><p><br /></p><p>I am also an admirer of the art and architecture of the period. I will confess that I enjoyed exploring the Mycenaean and Minoan sites even more than the more popular sites in Greece.
