    Curtisimo the Great(ish)

Good evening April. I've been so busy as of late I've not been able to properly say welcome to CT... sooooo welcome to CT! :D

I started a thread a while back so that new members could say hi and be welcomed so if you have a mind to feel free to join in that discussion as well.

[Ancients] Welcome the New Members. Post a Coin and a little about Yourself.

I wish I could help out with the ID but unfortunately I'm on the road and accessing references is somewhat difficult. I did want to offer some advice that might help you get more feedback from some of the other knowledgeable members on future threads. That is to upload the photos directly to the post using the below "full image" button.

When you use this button the image should show up like below.

    IMG_5702.JPG

You can then load all photos you wish to individually or you could even take it a step further and try combining the images side by side like below.

I did this with a "mobile app" version of Photoshop. The below thread has plenty of advice on other ways to do it.

I can’t help thinking the reverse of your coin should be upside down, so the leaves of the wreath are turned up instead of down.

I don't recognize the letters. I think corrosion may have removed parts of the letters, leaving only fragments behind.

There are many coins from Syria with wreath reverses. You might start by looking at Antioch.

I think it's coinage commemorating the launch of a Spaxe X rocket, but I could be wrong...

It's from Ambrakia in Epiros. Obverse is the laureate, veiled, and draped bust of Dione right. @Justin Lee is correct (oops, I meant @Pellinore); the reverse is needs to be rotated 180 degrees. The reverse shows an obelisk within a wreath of laurel leaves and in the field are letters A - M / B - P.

References SNG Cop 23 and others.

There aren't many in archives but you'll find one currently for sale on Forum Ancient Coins.
