Greek coin question

    It shouldn't be in either section, it should be in Roman Imperators. If not that, Roman Republic. Its a coin of Julius Caesar, either the first Imperator, last Roman Republican, depending on your point of view. Coins would not be in Roman Empire until Octavian was granted the title Augustus, becoming the first Roman Emperor.

    because julius caesar was not greek. he was roman. the coin is roman. the writing is roman. we "borrowed" the word from the romans. greek has nothing to do with it.

    Oh, I am an idiot. The OP was asking about the writing on the coin....duh. Its not in English like Swish says, its in Latin, and all of Western Europe just happens to use the Latin alphabet.

    Cross eyed in my old age AND they have it in the Greek section too.
