I have had no luck tracking down the origin of this coin. I've tried searching ACSearch for katharos, jug, amphora --nothing. I've tried partial inscriptions searches on acsearch and isegrim for *ΠIΠATPΩ*,*ΠATPΩ*, *PIPATR* and even *PATR*, still nothing. Anyone have any ideas? It's 20.5 mm and weighs 8.5 g. Look at the inscription to the right of the pottery vessel -- perhaps it reads Perinthos. That's Dionysos on the obverse, with the ivy wreath and the thyrsos over his shoulder.

You're right! I think it's similar to this one (from Wildwinds):

    Here's the write up:
"Perinthos, Thrace, AE21. Mid 4th-3rd c BC. 6.29 gm. Bust of Dionysos right; thyrsos over shoulder / EΠΠATΡΩNOΣ ΠEΡINΘIΩN downwards to left and right of kantharos"

    I wonder who Epipatronos was?
