Nice => that's pretty cool, Mag-Max ... Oh, and I too still own and still love most of my sweet ol' modern coins, but I very rarely buy moderns anymore for that would deplete my coin-budget and therefore postpone my chances of adding another cool ancient coin to my collection ... Ummm, but since you folks have already side-swiped this thread so efficiently, I may as well toss-in a few of my favourite old notes ... => amazingly, the last two pink babies are both Queen Elizabeth (well, I guess she wasn't a queen yet in the first example, eh?) ... so, Princess Elizabeth & Queen Elizabeth
Comrad, I have good Soviet bank notes with great heroes of Soviet labor and leadership. If you are interested comrad, I send you a few. If you are in America and I can mail for cheap, just send address via PM using imperialist pig invention called internet, and I send you good Soviet banknotes and even some good Iron curtain banknotes from Soviet satellite states free of charge. On a serious note, I can even send you some Che Guevara signed Cuban bank notes and a very rare $1 bill from Cuba issued to commemorate 15th anniversary of the revolution, but withdrawn immediately from circulation due to an error in the print color. Most were destroyed and few exist, but I have one because my aunt used to work in the Cuban National Bank as an economist and grabbed a few back in the day after they were recalled. However, if we go down that path, do kindly slip at least a nice looking ancient coin in return (doesn't have to be anything expensive) as the Che Guevara bills and the error note are worth some money. I am Cuban, but I don't care for the Commie stuff. I had enough communism when I had to escape Cuba. Long story and not for this thread though.
I had to read Finding Mañana for a class in college recently. Quite an engaging and interesting read concerning the Cuban exodus and the true stories of people affected by it.
Interesting! I had some family that fought against Franco in 38, luckly they survived! I will take you up on your offer in a few months.
