Grease or something more?

    Just found this 1985 D cent. Aside from the rpm ots showing something similar to a strike through grease or something like paper or cloth. The features seem awfully distorted to be grease, the L in Liberty being almost completely unreadable. Thanks .     Looks like a strike thru grease on the L. Some die deterioration and the beginning of zinc rot
