The chemicals they used on the planchets of the transitional cents (zinc) didnt clean them very well, you see thoughs bubbles and if big enough you can pop them with a needle. I love to collect cents, I wish I knew a way to slow what happens to the new cents, once the plating fails you start seeing that zinc oxide-slow death of a coin. I guess I'll keep saving the oldies
