Oh! oh! I got one... breath some more life into this corpse of a thread:

    From Cave to Castle

"There's rags to riches and then there's rags to mega-riches. Two brothers from Hungary definitely fall into the second category.

Until recently, Geza and Zslot Peladi lived in a cave near Budapest. Completely destitute, the two cave-brothers earned money by gathering scrap metal and selling candy they found on the street. That all changed the moment they heard that they stood to inherit a substantial portion of their maternal grandmother's $6.6 billion fortune. (That's billion, with a "B.")" [...more]

And then they changed their names to Pupa, Dac & Handsome Toad and lived happily ever after.

NEVER believe everything you read on the internet.

Having said that, here's a true story...

I went to a jeweler in Manhasset on Long Island to have a TAG-Heuer watch band resized. While he was removing a link I checked out the coins in his display case and lo and behold there was a 1916-D dime certified by ANACS as G-4.

When he came back with the watch I asked to see the coin. This is when he told me his 1916-D story.

Seems he had bought a large hoard of silver dimes in circulated condition and was going to send them off to be melted. His father stopped by the store and asked if he could search through the bag for key dates.

"Knock yourself out dad..." he replied.

Within 5 minutes his father pulled out the 16-D. The rest of the bag was just junk silver, but his dad had a cool story to tell his friends.

I almost bought it but had just spent over $500 on the TAG and bills need to be paid.

Maybe I will have the last word on this really really bizzare thread (but I doubt it)

I think Pupa is really DAK.

Now that goes back aways.. if if you are DAK, PUPA, you owe me a 1/10th oz Gold coin!
