I bought this 1903 Grand Army of the Republic Medal, years ago. What I find interesting about these pieces is that they don't sell for very much money at all! At least that's the way it looks to me! If I'm wrong, please educate me, does anyone know anything about GAR history?! Maybe I'm the only one with a GAR Medal idk, but we'll find out! :D

Am I the only one whose first thought was that this was a Star Wars, Episodes II/III reference?

Yeah, interesting read for sure, I read most of that off of Wiki but I didn't know about the last comment below! :) Yep, great history, way before my time!

"The final Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic was held in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1949 and the last member, Albert Woolson, died in 1956 at the age of 109 years."
