VF-20(?)

 

Classic Fine appearance with a weak strike. Normally, I'd expect more of the vertical lines on the eagle's shield for a F - but the weak strike has made that difficult.

The better question - is the cleaning severe enough that this warrants details? Based on the polish lines I see on the reverse, I'm going to say F Details, Cleaned.

There was a day when I would say without hesitation, that will body bag or details.... now days who knows.

In my humble opinion it should be in a details holder.

 

VF on first look. Probably had a bit of suds (cleaning) in the past.......

I'm thinking VF 20 or, if the grader were feeling cantankerous, F-15.

Question for all: I'm no expert by any means. The votes range from VG to AU. 1. Are some folks just guessing? 2. Is photograde being used as I get VF20, or so? Are folks just voting to see the results and/or accumulate postings? Thanks as some answers make no sense.

 

There are some true experts who chime in. Then there are others. Hard to say if some are guessing and why some make no sense. If the coin was handed to several experts who used their loupes, had good lighting and could rotate the coin, then you would get some consistent answers.

Anybody calling this coin AU needs to buy some glasses.

There are, however people that lurk on message boards and enjoy dicking around on polls. That seems to be the case here.
