Grading of rare date 1909-O Barber Half

Waste money by certifying it?I say not even as a details coin it appears to be AU to possibly MS and they still go for hundreds or more as a details.They become very scarce in AU and up especially not cleaned.

Guess my suspicions have been confirmed. It was just hard to see on the original photos.

The coin was purchased in the raw here in Norway, and it will stay like that, currently residing in my Dansco 7070 type album until I find a better example.

Ended up paying the equivalent of about $450, which is probably too high. Seller was kind enough to kick off 20% after I received the coin, didn’t know about it’s detail-condition.

Large pictures can exaggerate issues.

 

Grade it yourself, seal it, show it. Issues yes, but otherwise, nice looking half. Thanks for sharing it.
