Grading coins

    Doug, while agree that there are things that trouble me about this coin, I would say that if it was at one time soldered into a bezel and later removed, there could also be left over solder making these bumps.

    A possibility, but solder typically has a different look.

    Those are common rim dings; I've seen similar ones on other coins. The metal is raised that way because the hit which caused the ding occurred on the middle part of the rim and not the edge.
