Man it looks like we're flying through this round. Maybe...... Still need grades from jeffB DionHurst Duke and.......... wiggam007
Merc - 66 FB Think it's FB but from the pict it's hard to see the entire bands. If I'm right I think it is an upgrade candidate. Morgan - 64 Looks like that but they grade these a bit harder so could go 63 IMO Walking Half - 65 Not much to say I'm not good with Walkers
Oh, all right -- even though it's 79 degrees outside (25 degrees above normal), I'll stay inside a little bit longer. Mercury -- not the best strike, but I'm not seeing much damage anywhere. 67? Morgan -- reverse looks like it could go 65, but on the obverse, another domestic violence victim. I'm guessing 64. Walker -- omigosh, she's got a left hand! With FINGERS! But she's also some mending to do on her gown. 65?
Round 7 slabs Round 7 actual grades given by Tpg And finished in record time... on the merc the old holder strikes again. Definately nicer than the 65 suggests, but not sure if its worth the cost to resubmit... and yes a pretty common morgan with a pretty common grade the walker actually has a decent strike. The hand and arm although a bit weak are definately nicer than alot of these struck in the 1940's, but there is a pretty big scratch on the reverse above e. pluribus that in my opinion kept this one from going any higher than 65. And maybe makes this coin overgraded. I still really like it. Thanks again to all still in the contest.....I will post round 8 a bit later this afternoon.
Uh, can I request that you provide relevant slab information. It would have been nice to know that Mercury was in a rattler.
Well my guess was MS67 but that was probably an overreaction to the Mercury Dime from the previous round. Compare them, I think this one is better.
Agreed that it would go 67 now. I did look at the holder and thought it looked old but not rattler old. I dropped my grade from67 to 66 because of that and if it was a rattler would have gone 65 for the trifecta Either way we all have the same look but I think we will be more accurate if we know the holder. Your contest, your rules. I'm good either way. Thanks for doing it.
