Grading coins from pics Round 1

so wait! Are you providing coins that are just wrong? lol.. Boy do I have some slabs for you! .. I got reds that should be brown and 67's that should be 65 lol....


I don't mean to complain but it makes a huge difference if it is an NGC vs PCGS slab. IMO of course!

 

The only thing that kept me from giving that dime a 67 were those marks on the ear. That being said, I do not understand how it got a 67 with those marks.

 

Don't beat yourselves up too much, I started with those three cause I didn't really think any were acurately graded. But who am I right.

Thats why I posted the grading companies in the first thread. It was kinda hidden in there. I will try to make it more obvious in the rounds to come.

My 1 is close to .67?

 

I will always shake my head when I see a weak strike get such a high grade.
I need to remember I am trying to guess what they graded the coin at and not what I think of the coin.

 

So am I missing something, where are the answers to round 1 and I saw green18 on the list but is that someone else?

Yes, the first number is your average score, low is good, and 1 is very good for this round.. where the group average was 1.44,, so much better than the group average.
The second number is the number of coins you graded exactly (exacta)... bigger is better there.

 

You did not sign up for the contest so are not included in the scoring...

 

that nickel needs to be resubmitted. thats a very low grade for that date.

 

You don't think those cuts in the upper field on the reverse are enough to bring it down? It's a fantastic strike, and fantastically clean otherwise, but those scratches looked pretty severe to me.
