I came up this note this week, and got a sweet deal, BUT... I am no expert on Grading Currency, especially anything this old. I'd truly appreciate help on an approximate grade and value that I could get for this 1779 $20 Continental Currency. I'll take offers on it, but plan on putting it on EBay, really. I'd appreciate everyone's expert opinion!
Looks like a CC-92 in VG to Fine condition. It may have been cleaned at one time which might help explain the fading of the red ink, and the clean white paper. Here are some other examples to compare. https://currency.ha.com/c/search-re...C-92&limitTo=all&ic4=KeywordSearch-A-K-071316
I took a little better lighted picture, as the Red really isn't that faded on the bill. Think it was the fluorescent lights I took the pics under. - dunno if it will help or not. Also, I can't see the values on that link without remembering my HA sign in! LOL!
All it takes is two bidders that want it for the prices to climb. Not all of the sales were 10 + years ago...I see one from Oct.2015 Please let us know what a “sweet deal” is on your end.
What would you say is the Serial Number??? It isn't hard to read! It is just poor penmanship!!! "95920" or "96920" is what I see are possibilities. What do you think????
FYI... I put it on EBay... if anyone cares to bid. Already have a $99.99 Bid. https://www.ebay.com/itm/222806736346?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
